GMR Kamalanga Energy Ltd (Angul) Power Plant Automation
GMR Kamalanga Energy Ltd (Angul) Power Plant Automation. Delivered Electric Actuators (AVA/AVAT series) using 36 Units for GMR Kamalanga Energy Ltd.

Why This Project Matters
The Kamalanga plant is a massive 1,050 MW (3x350 MW) coal-based facility in Odisha. GREATORK's 36 units are integrated into critical balance-of-plant (BOP) systems, ensuring the reliable operation of one of India's most efficient private power plants.
Indian thermal plants face extreme ambient heat and high coal dust concentrations. Our actuators feature robust thermal management and IP68 sealing, preventing dust ingress and ensuring long-term stability in the challenging "Boiler & Turbine" environment.
The GKEL project requires seamless integration with centralized DCS systems. GREATORK actuators support multi-bus communication and provide 0.5% precision, meeting the high automation standards of the GMR Group。
Technical Solutions Deployed
Parameters are configured via handheld infrared tools without opening the electrical cover, which is critical for maintaining equipment integrity in the ash-heavy environments of thermal plants.
Our actuators utilize advanced sensors to monitor real-time torque, protecting expensive valves from jamming or damage due to thermal expansion in steam lines.
The OLED display and history data logging facilitate predictive maintenance, helping GKEL engineers minimize forced outages and optimize plant uptime.
